    1. How do I use my card to save on my fuel purchases?

      Use your Preferred Price Card in combination with a form of payment accepted at Petro-Canada. Your Preferred Price Card is valid at all participating Petro-Canada retail sites. Realize your savings with four easy steps!

      Use your cards in this order to pay at the pump:
      1. Petro-Points: Swipe your Petro-Points Card. Not a member? Join today!
      2. Preferred Price Card: Swipe your Preferred Price Card.
      3. Payment Method: Complete your transaction by swiping your payment method of choice
        (CIBC Petro-Points MasterCard®, other credit card,
        Petro-Canada Pre-Paid Card, or debit).
      4. Your receipt will show you how much you've immediately saved.

      Use your cards in this order to pay through a service attendant:

      1. Present your Preferred Price Card along with your Petro-Points card.
      2. Payment method: CIBC Petro-Points MasterCard, other credit card, Petro-Canada Pre-Paid Card, debit or cash.
      3. The service attendant will give you a receipt that shows exactly how much you've immediately saved.

    2. If I use my Preferred Price Card with my CIBC Petro-Points MasterCard, do I get both savings?

      Yes, the 2¢ per litre savings you get with your CIBC Petro-Points MasterCard is in addition to the savings you enjoy with your Preferred Price Card.

    3. My card isn't working, who can I contact?

    4. Can I earn Petro-Points when I use my Preferred Price Card?

      Yes you can. Earning Petro-Points with your Preferred Price Card is easy. Collect all the time.

      Use your cards in this order to pay at the pump:

      1. Petro-Points: Swipe your Petro-Points Card.
      2. Preferred Price Card: Swipe your Preferred Price Card.
      3. Preferred method of payment: Complete your transaction by swiping your payment method of choice (CIBC Petro-Points MasterCard, other credit card, Petro-Canada Pre-Paid Card, or debit).
      4. Your receipt will show you how much you've immediately saved.

      Use your cards in this order to pay through a service attendant:

      1. Present your Preferred Price Card along with your Petro-Points card.
      2. Present your method of payment of choice: CIBC Petro-Points MasterCard, other credit card, Petro-Canada Pre-Paid Card, debit or cash.

    5. How can I find out the balance remaining on my card?

    6. How do I know when my card expires?

      You can check the back of your card for the expiry date or online. Once the card has expired, the remaining value is forfeited.

    7. What happens if my card is lost, stolen or damaged?

      Simply call Customer Service at 1 (800) 668-0220, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (EST) as soon as you realize your card is missing or damaged.

      Once you report your lost or stolen card, Petro-Canada will send you a replacement card with the balance of litres remaining from the date you reported the loss of your card.

      For your card security, your current Preferred Price Card will be cancelled and can no longer be used for payment.†† When you receive your new Preferred Price Card in the mail, you'll be able to resume your savings on fuel and more.

      We'll mail your replacement card to the address we have on file. If this information is out of date, please let us know!

    8. What is Balance Protection?

      Balance Protection is a card benefit offered to our Preferred Price Card holders.  If you lose your card or it is stolen or damaged, the outstanding balance on the card is protected from the moment you inform Petro-Canada that you need a replacement card.

    9. How does a Preferred Price Card holder get Balance Protection?

      You must register your card online to get balance protection. Log in to your My Petro-Canada account or register your card for My Petro-Canada to balance protect your Preferred Price Card now.

    10. Does the cents per litre savings apply on all grades of gasoline and on diesel?

      Unless otherwise noted on your Preferred Price Card, you can use your cents per litre savings on any grade of gasoline, even diesel! Use your Preferred Price Card to purchase motor fuels only.

    11. Can I use more than one Preferred Price Card to pay for my purchase?

      No, you can only use one Preferred Price Card per transaction.

    12. Once my card is depleted, can I reload it?

      Once your card is depleted, it cannot be reloaded with more savings. You can however purchase a pre-paid card and enjoy many great benefits. Buying a pre-paid card is a great way to manage your fuel purchases and avoid being caught in an emergency situation when your tank and wallet are empty. Pre-Paid Cards are available in denominations of $25, $50, and $100.

Petro-Canada will exercise reasonable effort to ensure cards reported as lost or stolen are cancelled as soon as possible after receipt of the request. For replacement card requests please call Customer Service at 1 (800) 668-0220 (TTY: 1 (888) 290-7377). Petro-Canada will issue a new card containing the balance outstanding at the time Petro-Canada receives the request to replace the card.

      Petro-Canada will not reimburse the cardholder for any transactions (fraudulent or otherwise) that may occur prior to or during the time the request for a replacement is made.  

      The cardholder is responsible for any transactions that may occur on the card until such point in time as a Petro-Canada representative receives the request and cancels the card in question.

      Petro-Canada is not responsible for any problems that may arise, including but not limited to, technical malfunctions of telephone network or lines, including mobile technology, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment or software, viruses, bugs, failure of personal computers and/or software and hardware configurations, or failure of any email or request to be received by Petro-Canada for any reason including but not limited to traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or combination thereof.
