    Rules and Regulations

    Petro-Points 2008 Swipe ‘N Win Contest

    1. HOW TO PARTICIPATE

    No purchase necessary (see section 3.8)

    1.1 Sponsor: The sponsor of this contest is Petro-Canada (the “Contest Sponsor”).

    1.2 Eligibility: The PETRO-POINTS Summer 2008 Swipe ‘N Win Contest (the “Contest”) is open to the residents of Canada that are PETRO-POINTS Members (“Members”) in good standing, except for employees, and retirees of Contest Sponsor, CitiGroup Inc., their affiliates, franchisees, agents, associates, dealers, representatives, advertising and promotional agencies and members of the immediate family of these employees or retirees or any person with whom they are domiciled.

    1.3 Contest Period: Starting at 12:00 a.m., Mountain Time, June 10, 2008 and ending at 11:59 p.m., Mountain Time, August 25, 2008 (“Contest Period”), every time a Member:

    1. Uses his/her PETRO-POINTS Membership Card or linked payment card when he/she purchases a minimum of $0.10 worth of PETRO-POINTS eligible Petro-Canada products or services (tobacco products, Petro-Canada gift cards and taxes on non-fuel items are not eligible for PETRO-POINTS (“PETRO-POINTS Eligible Purchase”) at any participating Petro-Canada station in Canada, the Member automatically qualifies for one (1) entry into the Contest.
    2. Redeems 500 PETRO-POINTS for an entry via www.petro-points.com, the Member receives one (1) entry into the Contest (“Online Entry”). There is no limit to the number of entries a Member can obtain in this manner. However, they cannot exceed their PETRO-POINTS balance at the time the redemption is performed. This feature is only available online at www.petro-points.com.

    1.4 Awarding of Prizes: Subject to these Rules and Regulations, all Prizes will be awarded to the person whose name and address appears on Petro-Canada’s PETRO-POINTS database for the PETRO POINTS Membership Card or linked payment card that was used on the potentially winning PETRO-POINTS Eligible Purchase transaction, or the Online Entry, or mailed-in entry. This awarding is irrespective of the name appearing on the linked payment card that may have been used as the form of payment for the potentially winning PETRO-POINTS Eligible Purchase transaction.

    PETRO-POINTS Eligible Purchase transactions for persons who have been issued PETRO-POINTS Membership Cards without a name on the Card are eligible to enter the Contest, with the person whose name and address for such Membership Card appears on Petro-Canada’s PETRO-POINTS database being the person eligible to win a prize.

    2. PRIZES

    2.1 Prizes: There will be six (6) Prizes awarded by a random computer-generated draw (See Rules 2.3 and 2.4), such Prizes to be awarded as a Petro-Canada Dream Olympic Experience package for two (2) at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. The approximate retail value of each Prize is twenty three thousand Canadian dollars ($23,000).

    1. Prize consists of a four (4) day/three (3) night, Petro-Canada Dream Olympic Experience package for two (2) adults at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. Petro-Canada Dream Olympic Experience packages will be organized and managed by the professional event staff at Jet Set Sports. Details on specific hotels, event tickets and other Dream Olympic Experience package facts will be posted (as they become available) on the Petro-Canada Dream Olympic Experience website which can be accessed through www.petro-points.com.
    2. Specific Petro-Canada Dream Olympic Experience packages will vary based on scheduled date and time, but Dream Olympic Experience packages will include:
      1. A sum of three thousand Canadian dollars ($3,000) that can be used by the Prize winners to pay for transportation into and out of Vancouver for the scheduled Dream Olympic Experience package dates and times. Prize winners are responsible for arranging their own transportation into and out of Vancouver. It is strongly recommended that Prize winners book their in bound and out bound transportation as soon as scheduled dates and times for the Dream Olympic Experience package are known due to expected high travel demand throughout the duration of the Games. If travel expenses are less than three thousand dollars ($3,000) for the Prize winner and their guest, the Prize winner may keep any remainder. If travel expenses exceed three thousand dollars ($3,000) for the Prize winner and their guest, the excess costs will have to be covered by the Prize winner. In no event will Contest Sponsor be responsible for these excess costs;
      2. All ground transportation within Vancouver and to and from various scheduled events and activities. As per the Petro-Canada Dream Olympic Experience schedule, from the moment the Prize winner arrives in Vancouver, to the moment they depart, the Prize winners will be escorted in fully accredited luxurious motor coaches and vehicles (to and from Prize included scheduled events and activities). All Jet Set Sports vehicles will be accredited with special passes for access to all special dedicated Olympic traffic lanes and superior parking at all Olympic Games venues. Ground transportation also includes Vancouver International Airport transfers. Prize winners will be greeted at the airport by Jet Set Sports hosts who will escort them to the vehicle that will transfer them to/from the hotel on arrival/departure days;
      3. Accommodation is provided in the form of one (1) room on a double-occupancy basis. Rooms are secured at one of the finest properties in Vancouver, ensuring the comfort and convenience of every guest. Accommodations will be located with easy access to Olympic venues, the best shopping, restaurants and tourist sites. All rooms feature modern amenities, providing a great home away from home during the Games;
      4. Each Prize winner will receive event tickets to three (3) events during their Dream Olympic Experience. Seating will be in the preferred sponsor designated seating area. Specific events will vary depending on scheduled dates and times (some restrictions apply); and
      5. Food, beverages and entertainment will be provided as part of the Dream Olympic Experience package scheduled events and activities. Dinners will be at a variety of excellent local restaurants with world-class dining and a myriad of entertainment and social options. There will also be a designated hospitality area in the hotel where food and drinks will be available.

        Exclusion

        • Pocket money/personal expenses and travel insurance;
        • Any other activity not mentioned in the package; and
        • Telephone and communication fees, such as long distance calls and internet use.

        • Additional costs are at the Prize winner’s own expense.
    3. Prize winners will need to complete their own registration on the Dream Olympic Experience website. Upon receipt of their duly signed Declaration and Release Form by Contest Sponsor, Prize winners will be contacted by a Jet Set Sports representative confirming their prize and informing them on how to complete their registration. Prize winners must register on the Dream Olympic Experience website that can be accessed through www.petro-points.com. The Dream Olympic Experience package will take place on the set dates/times as specified on the registration site. No changes in dates/times will be permitted.
    4. Once a registration has been completed, no changes are permitted.

      Each Prize must be accepted as awarded by the Contest Sponsor. No cash alternatives, substitution or transfers of the Prizes will be allowed. The Prize winners shall not be entitled to convert the prize into cash.

    2.2 Odds: The odds of being randomly selected depend on the total number of entries registered in compliance with sections 1.2, 1.3 and 3.8 during the Contest Period.

    2.3 Prize Draw: The Prize draw for the six (6) Prizes will be by a random computer-generated draw on Tuesday September 9, 2008 at 9:00 a.m., Mountain Time, at 2489 North Sheridan Way, Mississauga, Ontario, from all eligible entries registered during the Contest Period (“Prize Draw”). The selected entrants will be contacted by email, telephone or mail. At least three (3) attempts to contact each selected entrant by email, phone or mail will be made within the fourteen (14) days following the Prize Draw. If Petro-Canada is unable to contact the selected entrant within fourteen (14) days following the Prize Draw, another entrant will be randomly selected and the initial selected entrant will be disqualified, his/her right to the prize will be forfeited and that entrant will have no recourse towards Petro-Canada or anyone involved in the Contest.

    2.4In order to win, the selected entrant must first correctly answer, unaided, a time limited, arithmetical, skill-testing question to be administered by telephone or email and sign and return to Contest Sponsor a standard Declaration and Release form confirming compliance with the Contest Rules and Regulations, acceptance of the Prize as awarded and releasing the Contest Sponsor from all liability. No substitution for, or transfer of the Prize, will be allowed. The selected entrant will have seven (7) days to return to Contest Sponsor the Declaration and Release form upon receipt. If the selected entrant does not do so, another entrant will be randomly selected and the initial selected entrant will be disqualified, his/her right to the prize will be forfeited and that entrant will have no recourse towards Petro-Canada or anyone involved in the Contest. The guest accompanying the Prize winners will also have to sign a standard Declaration and Release form. In the event that the guest is a minor person the form will have to be signed by a parent or legal guardian.

    3. GENERAL RULES

    3.1 All Prize claims are subject to verification by the Contest Sponsor and/or its designated representatives. Entries made with multiple addresses, under multiple identities, through the use of any device or artifice to enter multiple times or entries that are in excess of the permitted number of entries for the Contest Period are automatically void. All Contest entries or purchase transaction receipts obtained through unauthorized sources or which are illegible, mutilated, altered, reproduced, forged or irregular in any way, are automatically void. Contest Sponsor will be the sole and final reference source in validating Prize claims.

    3.2 If a dispute arises regarding who submitted an entry, the entry will be deemed to be submitted by the primary PETRO-POINTS Member as identified on the PETRO-POINTS database as provided at time of entry.

    3.3 By participating, each Contest entrant and the selected winners agree: (a) to be bound by these Rules and Regulations and the decisions of the Contest Sponsor, (b) to release and hold harmless Contest Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, and independent contractors, and their respective directors, officers, employees, agents and representatives including advertising and promotion agencies, from any and all liability for claims/damages including, but not limited to, claims/damages for personal injury, for property damage with respect to acceptance, possession or use or misuse of the Prize or participation in the Contest; (c) to permit Contest Sponsor to use his/her name, address, city, province of residence, photograph, video, or likeness for advertising or publicity purposes without any additional compensation; and (d) the Prize winners agree to sign a Declaration and Release Form to this effect. The decisions of the Contest Sponsor in relation with this Contest will be final and binding on all entrants.

    3.4 Contest Sponsor shall not be responsible for incorrect or inaccurate transcription or registration of Contest entry information, technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, faulty, incomplete, incomprehensible, or erased computer or network transmissions, line failures of any telephone network, computer equipment, software, or any other error or malfunction that render an entrant ineligible to enter the Contest or affects his/her chances of being selected to win or for late, lost, stolen, postage due, illegible or misdirected entries.

    3.5 Contest Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, terminate, or suspend this Contest, at its sole discretion, in the event a technical failure, computer virus or bug, unauthorized human intervention, fraud or any other occurrence or cause beyond its control that corrupts or adversely affects the administration, security, fairness or normal operation of the Contest, subject, in Quebec, to the approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux.

    3.6 If a selected entrant is awarded a Prize due to a system error, malfunction or defect the Prize will be returned to the Prize pool, to be re-awarded.

    3.7 Under no circumstances will Contest Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, and independent contractors, and their respective directors, officers, employees, and agents, including advertising and promotion agencies be required to award more Prizes than indicated in these Rules and Regulations or award a Prize other than in accordance with these Rules and regulations.

    3.8 No purchase is necessary.

    Members may submit an entry to the Contest and be eligible to win by sending by mail a hand-written, original (not mechanically reproduced), distinctly worded, 25-word or more description of why the entrant likes PETRO-POINTS, which must include the Member’s PETRO-POINTS Membership number, and a self-addressed envelope to: Petro-Canada SUMMER 2008 SWIPE ‘N WIN CONTEST, 2489 North Sheridan Way, Mississauga, Ontario, L5K 1A8. Limit of one (1) entry per original text. Each text submitted must be different. Entries must be postmarked no later than August 25, 2008. Limit of one (1) entry per envelope with sufficient postage. All mail-in entries will bear the same odds of winning as the other modes of entering this Contest.

    3.9 In the event that a minor person in his or her province of residence claims a Prize, an adult parent, or legal guardian, shall accept the Prize in his or her name and sign any required document to such effect.

    3.10 The Contest is subject to all Federal, Provincial and local laws, as well as the rules adopted in view of said laws.

    3.11 For Quebec residents, any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
