    Program Participation & Registration

    1. Who can participate in the Petro-Points Family & Friends Program?
      Participation is open to family and friends of the Canadian Olympic Committee, the Canadian Paralympic Committee and the Coaching Association of Canada.

      If you have received an invitation to participate in the program from one of these sport organizations, you are eligible.

    2. How do I join the Petro-Points Family & Friends Program?
      The Petro-Points Family & Friends Program is administered by the:

      - Canadian Olympic Committee
      - Canadian Paralympic Committee
      - Coaching Association of Canada

      If you received an invitation to join the program from one of these organizations, Please register online

    3. How do I register for the Petro-Points Family & Friends Program?
      Complete the online registration form. A valid PIN is required to register for the program. The PIN is in the communications from one of the sport partners where you received the invitation to join.

    4. Where do I get a PIN to register for the Petro-Points Family & Friends Program?
      The PIN is in the communication that you received from one of the Canadian sport organizations when you were invited to join the program.

    5. I tried to use my PIN to register but it didn’t work.
      Please follow the steps below when entering your PIN:

      - Enter the PIN exactly as shown
      - Each PIN can only be used once
      - A maximum of 1 PIN can be used per Member
      - A maximum of 5 PINs can be entered per household

      If the PIN still does not work, please contact your sports partner for a new pin.

    Fuel Savings and the Preferred Price™ Card

    1. How do I save money on fuel with this program?
      Fuel savings are provided through a Petro-Canada™ Preferred Price card. The Preferred Price card provides savings of 3 cents per litre on 100 litres of fuel. The card can be used when you pay at the pump or inside the store.

      On the first day of each month for one year after you register, the balance on the Preferred Price card is topped up to provide fuels savings on up to 100 litres of fuel. Unused fuel savings do not accumulate in the following months. The maximum number of litres loaded on the card is 100 litres.

    2. When can I expect to receive my Preferred Price card in the mail?
      Once you complete the online registration for the Petro-Points Family & Friends Program, you should receive your Preferred Price card in the mail within 14 business days.

      If you have not received your Preferred Price card within 14 business days of completing your registration, contact us at 1-800-668-0220 (TTY: 1 (888) 290-7377).

    3. 14 business days have passed since I registered for the Petro-Points Family & Friends Program and I haven’t received my Preferred Price card in the mail yet. What should I do?
      If you have not received your Preferred Price card in the mail within 14 business days of completing your registration, contact us at 1-800-668-0220 (TTY: 1 (888) 290-7377).

    4. How many Preferred Price cards can I receive through the Petro-Points Family & Friends Program?
      Each Petro-Points member can register for one Preferred Price card. A valid PIN number is required to participate in the program.

    5. How many members of the same household can register through Petro-Points Family & Friends Program?
      Up to 5 members of the same household can register for the program. Each member will require their own valid PIN registration number to participate in the program.

    6. How do I use my Preferred Price card to save on fuel purchases?
      Use your Preferred Price card in combination with any form of payment accepted at Petro-Canada. Your Preferred Price card is valid at all participating Petro-Canada retail sites. Realize your savings with four easy steps!

      When you pay at the pump, use your cards in this order:
      1. Swipe your Petro-Points card.
      2. Swipe your Preferred Price card.
      3. Complete your transaction by swiping your payment method of choice.
      4. Your receipt will show how much you've saved and your savings balance remaining.


      When you pay through a service attendant, use your cards in this order:
      1. Present your Preferred Price card along with your Petro-Points card.
      2. Provide your payment method of choice.
      3. The service attendant will give you a receipt that shows how much you've saved and your savings balance remaining.

    7. When is the balance on this Preferred Price card reloaded?
      On the first day of each month the balance on your Preferred Price card will be topped back up to provide savings of 3 cents per litre on 100 litres of fuel.

      Unused fuel savings from the prior month do not accumulate. The maximum number of litres on the card is 100 litres.

    8. How is the Preferred Price card used in the Family & Friends Program different from other Petro-Canada Preferred Price cards?
      The Preferred Price card that you receive in the Petro-Points Family & Friends Fuel Savings Program will look different than all other Petro-Canada Preferred Price cards. The image on the card is unique to the Program and has the Canadian Olympic Committee, Canadian Paralympic Committee and Coaching Association of Canada logos on it.

      The savings rate of 3 cents per litre may differ from other Preferred Price cards.

      In addition, the card balance is replenished each month to provide fuel savings on up to 100 litres.

    9. Where can I use the Preferred Price card?
      The Preferred Price card is accepted at participating Petro-Canada retail sites. It can be used when you pay at the pump or inside the store.

    10. On which types of fuel can I save money by using the Preferred Price card?
      The Preferred Price card provides fuel savings on all gasoline grades and on diesel.

      Use your card for motor fuels only.

    11. Where can I find the balance remaining on my Preferred Price card?
      You can determine your remaining balance by:
      • Checking your sales receipt. Your balance, in litres remaining eligible for savings, automatically adjusts with every transaction.
      • Checking the Pay at the Pump screen for the available purchase balance prior to dispensing fuel.
      • Logging in to your Petro-Points account online to check your balance in litres.
      • Calling our customer service network at 1 (800) 668-0220 (TTY: 1 (888) 290-7377). The value remaining on the card, at any given time, is based on Petro-Canada's records.

    12. Can I use both my Preferred Price card and my Fuel Savings Reward card in the same transaction?
      No, you can only use one Preferred Price card per transaction.

    13. Can I use both my Preferred Price card and my Fuel Savings Reward card in the same transaction?
      No, Preferred Price cards and Fuel Savings Reward cards cannot be used in the same transaction. Only one Preferred Price card or one Fuel Savings Reward card can be used per transaction.

    14. Can I use my Preferred Price card with my linked RBC credit or debit card that gives me savings of 3 cents per litre on fuel purchases at Petro-Canada?
      Yes, you can use the Preferred Price card with your linked RBC credit or debit card as the form of payment.

      The fuel savings from both cards will be combined to provide savings of 6 cents per litre (3 cents per litre from the Preferred Price card plus 3 cents per litre from the RBC credit or debit card).

    15. Does the Preferred Price card expire?
      Yes, the Preferred Price cards used in the Petro-Points Family & Friends Program expire after one year. However, Suncor (Petro-Canada) may terminate, cancel or postpone the program on 90 days notice.

    16. What happens if my card is lost, stolen or damaged?
      Call Customer Service at 1 (800) 668-0220 (TTY: 1 (888) 290-7377), Monday to Sunday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (ET) as soon as you realize your card is missing or damaged. Once you report your lost or stolen card, Petro-Canada will send you a replacement card with the balance of litres remaining from the date you reported the loss of your card.

      For your card security, your current Preferred Price Card will be cancelled and can no longer be used for payment.†† When you receive your new Preferred Price Card in the mail, you'll be able to resume your savings on fuel and more.

      We'll mail your replacement card to the address we have on file. If this information is out of date, please let us know.

    Petro-Points

    1. Do I have to be a Petro-Points member to participate?
      Yes, Petro-Points registration is required to participate in this program. You will be guided through to register through the program registration page if you aren’t yet a Petro-Points member.

    2. How do I join the Petro-Points program?
      Go to petro-points.com/familyandfriends to join the Petro-Points program and the Petro-Points Family & Friends program at the same time. Follow the instructions online to become a member.

    3. Can I earn Petro-Points when I use my Preferred Price card?
      Yes, you can earn Petro-Points when you use your Preferred Price card.

      When paying at the pump: swipe your Petro-Points card first, before swiping your Preferred Price card and your method of payment.

      When paying inside the store: present your Petro-Points card and Preferred Price card to the service attendant before paying for your fuel purchase.

    4. How do I earn Petro-Points for my selected Sport Organization?
      Every time you swipe your Petro-Points card, the base Petro-Points that you earn will automatically be matched to your selected Canadian sport organization.

    5. How do I know how many Petro-points I have earned for my selected Canadian Sport Organization?
      You can determine how many Petro-Points you have earned for your selected Canadian sport organization by:
      • Logging in to your online Petro-Points account and looking at the bottom of your monthly Petro-Points account statement.
      • Calling our customer service network at 1 (800) 668-0220 (TTY: 1 (888) 290-7377).
      • Will the Petro-Points matching to my selected Canadian Sport Organization end after a year?
        No, your base Petro-Points will continue to be matched to your selected Canadian Sport Organization until the end of the program.

      • How will my selected Canadian Sport Organization use the matched Petro-Points?
        The Canadian Olympic Committee will use the matched points to deliver resources that Canada’s athletes need to perform at their best.

        The Canadian Paralympic Committee will use the matched points to help give athletes with a disability access to the resources they need to go from their communities to the Paralympic podium.

        The Coaching Association of Canada will use the matched points for grassroots coach education and development in communities across Canada through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP).

        Log in to your online Petro-Points account and view your Account Statement. For additional details, contact customer service at 1 (800) 668-0220 (TTY: 1 (888) 290-7377).

          ††Petro-Canada is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged cards. Petro-Canada will exercise reasonable effort to ensure cards reported as lost or stolen are cancelled as soon as possible after receipt of the request. Replacement card requests are managed during Petro-Canada's customer service network's normal hours of operation which are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. eastern time Monday to Sunday, excluding holidays. Petro-Canada will issue a new card containing the balance outstanding at the time Petro-Canada receives the request to replace the card.
